CONYERS ROCKDALE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL ANNOUNCES ABC COMPOUNDING IS OPENING A NEW PLANT IN CONYERS, GEORGIA
Conyers Rockdale Economic Development Council is pleased to announce that ABC Compounding, leaders in the manufacturing of maintenance and industrial cleaning chemicals, has purchased the former John Deere distribution and support facility located at 2001 Deere Drive, Conyers, Georgia.
“We will be consolidating three of our facilities into one, bringing 100 employees in phases, as we will be making improvements to the building before we fully transition operations to Conyers. We first looked at the building in February of 2012 with Todd Barton, CBRE Broker representing John Deere, site consultant Buddy Hill of TransWestern Atlanta, Glenn Sears and Gina Hartsell with CREDC.” stated Steve Walker, President of ABC Compounding. All agreed “the building is a great fit for the future needs of ABC.“
After months of research and planning and due diligence, ABC Compounding put the building under contract. Many meetings took place over the course of the project that included Rockdale County Water Resources, Rockdale Planning and Development and CSX Railroad, who granted right of way for a new sewer line. The deal was originally planned to close in December 2012 but was delayed. Throughout 2013, communication stayed open between Steve Walker and CREDC and serious negotiations began again. The deal on the iconic 379,000 square foot building closed on December 27, 2013.
“ABC Compounding is excited about Rockdale County. It has been a pleasure to work with the folks here,” said Steve Walker.
Conyers Rockdale Economic Development Council represents both Rockdale County and the City of Conyers.
