The Rockdale County Public School System provides children in Rockdale County witha quality public education. The Rockdale County Public School system supports twenty public schools with over 891 teachers, 13,833 students. The system graduated 771 seniors in 2002.
The Rockdale County Public School System also provides an alternative school, an Alpha school, a magnet school that works closely with Georgia Tech, and an evening academy for continuing education.
In 2006 the Rockdale Career Academy charter school was opened. With over 1400 students the Rockdale Career Academy offers eighteen different areas of study, including joint enrollment opportunities with Dekalb Technical College and Georgia Perimeter College. Many of the eighteen career tracks offer industry standard certifications. The Career Academy also provides adult continuing education during the evenings in conjunction with Dekalb Technical College and Georgia Perimeter College.
