Rockdale County, while the second smallest county in the state is a diverse and growing community.

The number of households in 1990 was 18,336 and increased to 24,052 in 2000, representing a change of 31%. The household count in 2004 was 28,459 and the household projection for 2009 is 33,644, an increase of 18%. The population in the area in 1990 was 54,091 and in 2000 it was 70,111, roughly a 30% increase. The population in 2004 was 76,406 and the projection for 2009 is 83,732 representing an increase of 10%.

In 1990, the median age of the total population was 32.1, and in 2000, it was 35.4. The median age in 2004 is 35.9 and it is predicted to change in five years to 36.9 years.
In 2004, females represented 50.5% of the population with a median age of 37.4 and males represented 49.5% of the population with a median age of 34.4 years.
