The Georgia Film, Music & Digital Entertainment Office (FMDE) has designated Rockdale County as Camera Ready, a special designation given to participating Georgia communities interested in attracting film and television production.
Our Camera Ready designation means we can provide easier, faster and better access to county production resources and location information. Recent movie productions that utilized the movie-friendly resources available in Rockdale County include Fast and Furious 5, starring Vin Diesel; A Joyful Noise, starring Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton, Prisoners, starring Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal; American Pie Reunion, Cartoon Network’s Ben 10 1 & 2, and Rob Zombie’s Zombieland. Television series productions that shoot in Rockdale County include The Vampire Diaries and The Orginals as well as MTV’s Teen Wolf.
If you represent a production company, you have a helpful liaison in Rockdale County ready to assist you with your upcoming shoot. In Conyers Rockdale County that liaison person is Gina Hartsell with the Conyers Rockdale Economic Development Council. Gina handles all incoming requests from production companies interested in shooting in Rockdale County and works with production companies throughout the entire photo shoot. As part of our participation in this program we have collected location photographs from Rockdale County and posted in the FMDE’s Reel-Scout database.
